Academic Introduction

The School of Information Science and Engineering (SISE) of Hebei University of Science and Technology was established in December 1999, originating from the Electronics Department of Hebei Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering founded in 1986. The Applied Electronics program began admitting its first undergraduate students as early as 1984, followed by Computer Application in 1985 and Telecommunication Engineering in 1998. Presently, there are approximately 2,200 undergraduate students and around 440 postgraduate students enrolled in SISE. The SISE offers six undergraduate’s programs: Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Network Space Security, Electronic Information Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, and Communication Engineering. The Computer Science and Technology major is designated as a national first-class major development site for undergraduates, while Electronic Information Engineering is recognized as a provincial first-class major development site for undergraduates, with five provincial excellent courses available online. The School has one provincial key discipline in Computer Software and Theory, two first-level academic master’s degree authorization center in Computer Science and Technology and Information and Communication Engineering, as well as three professional master’s degree authorization center in Next-generation Electronic Information Technology (including Quantum Technology), Communication Engineering (including Broadband Networks, Mobile Communications), and Computer Technology. Its departments include Computer Science, Network Security, Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Fundamentals Teaching Department, Computer Fundamentals Teaching Department...
